a little bit about me

My name is Catherine and I am the founder of Wealth of Cents. I’m a born and bred New Yorker with a love of all things personal finance. Naturally, writing a personal finance blog was something I debated for a while and decided to finally leap in head first. Often, people think that an obsession with personal finance is an obsession with money. Well, let me clear something up. I’m not obsessed with money; I’m obsessed with freedom. In my experience, smart money management is the #1 tool needed to help you live life on your own terms.  I’m also an avid reader and writer; every article I post is thoroughly researched and vetted to provide you with the most accurate up to date information. I have over 10 years of business management and marketing experience and an MBA.

What You Should Expect From Us

2020 has taught me a few things, namely that smart money management is more important than ever. Too many of us rely on a single source of income with little to no savings in the bank or money invested, relying on a single check from the government to help us get through tough times.

I launched Wealth of Cents as a learning tool to help cut through the financial clutter and arm the average person with the right knowledge to feel empowered in their finances. 

I also firmly believe smart money management is not a “rich person” thing-it should be an EVERY person thing. I believe everyone should have access to the right tools and information to make smart money decisions.  At Wealth of Cents, you’ll learn a variety of ways to borrow, save, and invest money. My goal is to make personal finance as easy as possible to understand and help you find your own financial freedom.
